Betrayed by a Bag

It's true, I have been betrayed by my very own bag.
It's perfect right? Tiny, right? Just big enough to hold everything you need, right? Wrong! Completely wrong. Almost everything I have stuffed in here would fit in my pockets. I brought the bag because my camera, while it would fit in my back pocket, should not be crammed in my pocket. Then it decided to rain every day. This bag is not big enough for my camera, and rain gear at the same time; let us not even begin to speak about my travel journal.

Mistake made, but solution found. I don't need a tiny bag that takes up little to no room in my backpack. I need a big bag that takes up little or no room in my backpack. Impossible, right? Once again, wrong. So very wrong, in fact so very wrong that there are multiple types and styles of my wrongness made by all different travel companies.

I haven't tried any of these out, but they all fit the bill. Yepal makes this one that is water resistant. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B011B6VR76/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1460226318&sr=8-1&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=yepal+backpack&dpPl=1&dpID=41XbdgmWTPL&ref=plSrch

If you are looking for something a little less pink, Sea to Summit makes this bad boy, but I don't love the way it looks. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B002ZHS6JS/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1460226550&sr=8-1&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=sea+backpack&dpPl=1&dpID=41-iv9isd5L&ref=plSrch
I think the best options, however, are made by a company called ChicoBag.. They make all kinds of folding reusable bags, travel bags, and shoulder bags. Many of them are made from recycled materials! They pack up tiny, weigh next to nothing, and have little clips, so you don't need to take up precious space in your bag, you can attach in to the outside. https://www.chicobag.com/
They have a backpack/daypack:
However, I like to be able to tuck my bag under my arm when I'm traveling, so I ordered the hobo style and the sling and I'll keep whichever one seems like it will work better!

A Figment

Figment, what is a figment? A figment is something created by the imagination. A figment simply does not exist.

It came to my attention that for years I planned trips that were merely figments. They were just dreams. I planned itineraries. Sometimes I booked rooms. Once I got as far as paying off part of a cruise. I went to the Caribbean, Spain, England and France in my imagination.

How did I allow these trips not to happen? I let life get in the way. I allowed other things to take priority over me. Once I had a serious financial set back. However, the biggest mistake I made was not making the big commitment first. The point of no return. The plane ticket. Once you have a plane ticket it's completely possible to travel, even if you have to budget, or you know, starve for three days.

So I present to you the imagination backpack.

In the next six months, I've got three plane tickets purchased. The first takes off tomorrow morning. That backpack is my only piece of luggage for the next four days.

In the coming six months, we'll go to Disneyland, Mexico City, and Paris. We'll talk about traveling light, micro packing. I'm looking for the best, economical travel products. After that, the sky is the limit, my imagination has so many plans stored away.

Right now, I'm getting ready to go to Disneyland for the California Adventure Food and Wine Festival. My backpack is packed, my cats have baby sitters, and I have reservations for wine seminars, food seminars and some really great meals.

Come travel with me!
